Peer Assessment of Article Rough Draft

In my current course, EDLD 5317, we were asked to write an article to be submitted to be published on any page we wanted. We were then required to share the rough draft with our peer group to get feedforward and a score. This is the summary of the feedforward and scores I received from my peers.


We used a clearly written rubric to score our peers. Below you can find a summary of the rubric along with the feedforward and scoring that I received from my peers. The average score I received by my peers was 45 out 50.


Introduction: Engaging and clearly states the purpose and significance of the publication. (2 points)

Summary of feedforward: Possibly add concrete evidence or another personal example. (1 point out 2 received)


Logical Flow: Ideas are well-organized, with smooth transitions between sections and paragraphs. (4 points)

Summary of feedforward: Work to blend the topics at the end of each paragraph so that the overall flow is better. (3 out of 4 points received)


Clear Thesis/Argument: Clearly articulates a central thesis of argument that is maintained throughout the publication. (4 points)

Clarity: Writing is clear, concise, and easily understandable for the target audience. ( 3 points)

Professional Tone: Maintains a formal and professional tone suitable for an academic publication. (2 points)

Use of Research: Integrates relevant and credible sources to support claims and argument (3 points)

Summary of feedforward: Add a couple more sources to backup the claims and show that information has been thoroughly researched. (1 point received)


Data and Examples: Includes concrete data and examples to enhance the credibility and persuasiveness of the publication. (2 points)
