3-Column Table Plan

“The role of a leader is not to come up with all the great ideas. The role of a leader is to create an environment in which great ideas can happen.”
― Simon Sinek, Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action

One thing that my partner teachers and I speak about is the independence abilities of our students. It is obvious that young learners of today have a difficult time thinking creatively on their own. This is a skill that has to be developed through application. Students need to be provided with opportunities to have a voice and choice in their learning. This is what will enhance those abilities. Without being provided chances to be creative, students will never be able to achieve their great ideas.

I have developed a 3-column outline, based on Fink's Guide, that incorporates the learning goals based on my innovation project of students creating their schools using digital platforms. I began this outline by starting with a Big Hairy Audacious Goal and then working backward to plan the steps of my 8-week course. When my students are done with this course, they should be able to use their creativity to utilize digital tools and platforms to digitally create a new school and solve math problems on their own. They should also be able to showcase their work with an ePortfolio and blog about their learning journey throughout their school career and even beyond if they wish. Imagine how amazing it would be to look back on your learning journey as far back as fourth grade?!
