E-Portfolios in the Classroom

Using e-portfolios was a foreign concept to me before I started my journey to my Master's degree. Upon entering the Applied Digital Learning program at Lamar University I began to see the usefulness in students capturing and showcasing their learning through the use of e-portfolios. By using an e-portfolio in the classroom, students can keep track of their learning throughout their educational careers and look back on it. Think of how cool it would be to look back on those educational moments you had in the 3rd grade! By using an e-portfolio, students can do just that! The usage will also require students to take ownership in their learning. They have to know what their doing and writing about in order to showcase it. This is something I wish I would have started years ago. E-portfolios will set your students up for success and give them a leading edge among their peers.
